How to Calculate 10 Percent of a Number
To find 10% of any number, just move the decimal point one place to the left. For example, 10% of 250 = 25.0, and 10% of 7.5 = 0.75. This is the fastest percentage mental shortcut and the building block for estimating larger percentages.
Common uses: restaurant tip estimation (double it for 20%), sales tax checks, sale discounts, and quick health-metric conversions. A 10% improvement is also the standard benchmark for A/B testing lifts.
